Information Sessions
Learn about the international adoption process, eligibility requirements, country programs, and what to expect before beginning your adoption journey.
Why Attend an Information Session?
Information sessions give families the opportunity to ask questions, explore their options, and determine whether international adoption is the right path for them.
International adoption involves many decisions, requirements, and responsibilities. An information session helps you understand the process before beginning your adoption journey.
Sessions provide an overview of agency services, country programs, timelines, costs, documentation, travel requirements, post placement obligations, and the needs of children waiting for families. They also help you determine whether intercountry adoption is the right path for your family, which program may be the best fit, and what questions remain before moving forward.
By the end of the session, you'll have a clearer understanding of the adoption process, key considerations, and next steps, whether that means beginning intake or taking more time to research, reflect, or speak with a Program Manager.
General Information Sessions
General information sessions provide an overview of intercountry adoption and how The Children’s Bridge supports families through the process. These sessions are a helpful starting point for families who are still learning about adoption or comparing whether international adoption may be the right path.
Topics may include the key stages of adoption, eligibility and readiness, the Home Study and PRIDE training, AdopTALK, dossier preparation, matching, travel, post-placement requirements, broad cost considerations, and how our team supports families along the way.
Country-Specific Information Sessions
Country-specific information sessions help families understand the realities of adopting through a particular program. The Children’s Bridge currently provides program information for India, Thailand, and the USA.
These sessions may cover country-specific eligibility, acceptance factors, child profile, timelines, travel, post-placement requirements, estimated costs, and Program Manager guidance. Because country programs differ significantly, families should attend the session for the program they are seriously considering.
